I had an interesting conversation with a fb friend and neighbor - TopicsExpress

I had an interesting conversation with a fb friend and neighbor last night, it was about raising the min. Wage to 15 an hour. Most comments were about the concern of an inflation if it was raised, I see inflation with the current min wage, and many people cant make it on this min wage, no matter if they work a full 40 hrs or 90 hrs, and when pay day comes only thing we have to show for our hard work is a sore back, sore feet and aggravation that everything has gone to pay bills. So my question is this.. Would you turn down 11-15 dollars an hour, and say, oh no thanks Im not SKILLED enough for that kind of money I only dig ditches there for Im not WORTH that much money, or no thanks Im only a CNA who takes care of the elderly and the combative I shouldnt make that kind of money because it could raise the price of milk for my kids cereal which is already 3.20 a gal. Who in their right mind wouldnt want to make more an hr? We all go into a job hoping to be trained , to learn more about our line of work, or possibly to advance.. With advancement we should get more money, and that doesnt seem to cause inflation any more.. And FYI most of us couldnt do each others jobs the for the SKILL is something we all have ... I know I couldnt work in a coffee shop I dont know how to use those big machines, my kuerig is simple enough.. I know I couldnt dig a ditch, it would fall in, there for that skill is someone elses, and trust me most of you wouldnt want my job that I truly LOVE.
