I had an interesting experience last night. I woke up in the middle of the night (3:00 am) with a blasting headache. I decided to sit on the front veranda thinking the fresh air may help. One of my cats followed me out and we sat there together. Along came a skunk and came up on to the verandah. I sat perfectly still and Mocha my cat just stared. He was only about 2 feet away the closest I have ever been to one. He was so beautiful, the stripe down his back was so white and the cutest little face. He realized we were there stopped and stared for a minute then turned around and went back down the stairs. Mocha then was ready to pursue and I kept quietly calling to her to come back, for once she listened and did come back to me. The skunk by that time had scurried off. I didnt get rid of my headache but, was absolutely thrilled to see the little sweetheart that close. They are beautiful looking animals. Mocha is still outside she didnt want to come back in with me. I suspect she is guarding the house in case that visitor comes back again. :):)
