I had an uncanny experience today. Shopping for used books at the Detroit Public Library booksale this afternoon, I found a copy of the Trouser Press Record Guide (Fourth Edition), in pretty good shape. I still have the copy I got as a Christmas present in 1991, and its served me well, but my old copys pretty worn, so I figured this was worth a dollar. When I got it home and flipped through it, I discovered that a previous owner had used a pink highlighter to note certain albums by certain bands -- probably records that he or she owned, I guess? The books not all that marked up, but every Game Theory album is highlighted. If you look at the picture, youll see a little pink arrow pointing at the line that reads Dead Center (Fr. Lolita) 1984. Also highlighted on other pages: Hex, Jack Frost, and the Three OClock. I really wish I knew who owned this book before I found it; I think wed get along. I figure theres a good chance that the previous owner is a member of this group.
