I had asked TFL why there were no presentations of the proposed Old Oak station redevelopment in the Harlesden area, this was the reply. Dear Mr Buck Thank you for your email and your interest in our proposed plans for a new London Overground station at Old Oak. Determining a consultation audience is always a fine balancing act. In this instance we looked at the local area in terms of those who might use the new station and would be most affected by impacts from its construction etc. As well as trying to target wider users of the Overground network whose through journeys might be impacted, as well as future users and beneficiaries from the connections this new interchange would provide. We mail dropped over 31,000 local properties within approx 1 km of the new station locations (i attach a map showing the distribution area). We also used our database of registered oyster card holders to target holders with local post codes and also people who touch in and out of the following stations: Willesden Junction Acton Central South Acton Kew Gardens Richmond Shepherd’s Bush Kensington (Olympia) West Brompton Imperial Wharf Clapham Junction Kensal Rise Brondesbury Park Brondesbury West Hampstead We took out a number of press ads in publications across the region. We also handed out flyers advertising the consultation at the following key stations: Willesden Junction London Overground Acton Central London Overground Shepherds Bush London Overground West Hampstead London Overground Clapham Junction London Overground. Richmond London Overground. In addition to this we sent out notification to key stakeholder groups – this list was provided to us by the borough who are best placed to let us know which groups need to be targeted locally. We have planned 4 Public Exhibitions. The locations were chosen to be in close proximity to the proposed station sites and were not chosen by borough boundary. We have where possible ensured they are close to public transport links and/or having parking to allow people to attend and have in fact had attendance from people interested in the project as far as way as South West London. These are open public events and attendance is not restricted – anyone receiving a leaflet, seeing a press ad or indeed any of the above mentioned channels is welcome to attend and the events were promoted through these channels. In addition, to the formal public exhibition events we have agreed with the council to also attend the Harlesden Community Forum on 21 October and have provided a stock of consultation leaflets to beamed available in all Brent libraries. We look forward to receiving REACH’s response to the consultation. Many Thanks Emma Crittenden Consultation Team
