I had been busy with work so had stopped knitting. Basically I started feeling sketchy and grumpy and on a weekend away bought some wool and knitted myself a hat (toque). Next I tried this for Troy. It is easier than it looks - Troy intentionally asked for the easiest animal first - from a library book. You can knit something called an an i-chord by not flipping the knitting after each row. You just pull the end stitches tight to get rid of the slack (you have to try it to understand). Alternatively just knit on the round then force it back to all on one needle to do the head part. You make it way wider than sew up the flaps to form the head shape. Soon I will try the other ones - which little kids would love. (You can just stitch eyes for babies.) I made the eyes on these snakes look more lifelike by sewing with yarn around them. Eyes always have some sort of eyelid or casing around them keeping the ball in!
