I had car drama yesterday. My mechanic tells me the accelerator cable got stuck because of a broken plastic cover. I was on a busy road with children all around, and my car was at 4000 RPM and rising. The breaks could not deal with it, and hitting the e-brake would have meant a crash near a school. Adrenaline is an amazing thing. In what could have been my final moments, I turned on my 80’s mixed CD and decided on a controlled crash to minimize collateral damage. If this was the end, I wanted to hear the music from when I was in my prime. I found an open lot and hit the e-brake, almost flipping over. There were no injuries. I imagine my final words at Boca Hospital would have gone like this: Chaplain: “Edmund, what do you want to say in witness to our Savior?” Me: “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me...*gasp*… and…*gasp*…and…” Chaplain: “And what son?” Me: “Coveting is a sin…and…and…I wish that I had Jesse’s girl…” Cue Music…youtu.be/jxZxaL2ecNw
