I had discovered radio way back when and the 1st job I had was at S&S. There they assigned me to sort returnable bottles in the far back room. I was by myself and they allowed me a radio. Between this and listening to it in my car I identified with some key New York stations that were sources for the current hits of Rock N Roll. So while I was just surfing on Youtube I stumbled on the following compilation of soundbytes from the era when the radio landscape was about the songs, the groups and the Top 40 hits. This is 13 minutes so its a bit long. But if you are like me these are what I heard during my life in the 60s. They didnt have anything from WKBW Buffalo where they played the hits as well. Although they were a different kind of zany. They had Joey Reynolds and Rod Roddy with Chicken Man and smoke other offbeat material. Hope you enjoy. youtu.be/tNjvIIMd0xQ
