I had funny thing happen today. I was hanging around the SCA village at the Lady of the Lakes Renaissance Faire. One of the Ladies working in the camp kitchen asked me if I would split some firewood for them so that they would have enough for tomorrow. So I stripped off my shirt picked up the splitting maul and went to work. I set up in a clear space beside the wood pile with my back to the rest of the village. I know better than to swing an axe toward someone and was trying to be safe and responsible. About 3 or four logs into the process I started hearing comments coming from behind me and after sending a particularly large log flying in a couple of directions suddenly got a round of applause. I turned around to find a small crowd of ladies had gathered behind me to watch the show. All I have to say is you people are starved for entertainment if watching a skinny old guy chop wood is the highlight of your day. But thank for the complement!
