I had my first Acupuncture treatment today for my arm which has been causing me much pain for months. I can honestly say the acupuncture treatment was painless. I could barely feel anything when the practitioner was inserting the almost hair thin needles. It was interesting that to treat my arm he also placed needles in my feet. I found out today a bonus of the treatment is it may also help the poor circulation to my feet/ lower legs. The needles were left in for a half hour. I was comfortable enough that I was able to meditate for the half hour in the quiet of the room where I was resting on the cushioned treatment table. I noticed my sore arm actually stopped throbbing while the acupuncture needles were in my arm and feet. It felt sort of numb. By the time my treatment was done I was almost an hour overdo for the meds I was taking for pain, and my sore arm wasnt feeling as bad as usual. I was able to do some simple chores around the house when I got home, washed a few dishes and put some stuff away. By the time I finished making some dinner it was starting to hurt again but with rest it stopped. I am going back for another treatment next week and I will see if there is any long term improvement after that visit. Now to see if I can get a whole nights sleep without arm pain waking me up at 4 a.m.
