I had my first Aryan Brotherhood inmate on detail. How did I treat him? The same way I treat all of the inmates. Like a person. Do I agree with his beliefs? No. What he stands for? No. He had all the Tats. Lightening bolts, 1&2, all that stuff. It was a little freaky..but people in reality are all the same to me, we all have lessons to learn, and eventually the lesson will send you to a crossroad in your life. When you get there it will make you stop and think or rethink what you believe in,,whats right or wrong. What he is, is what he is, thats his choice, and I will be the first one to tell you I have seen Hispanic and Black inmates just as racist..trust me its a different world in there. This was the first time I had three inmates that didnt talk to eachother..2 black dudes 1 white guy. It was just strange.Its funny, you see the whole worlds attitude towards each others race, beliefs, politics,,all of that in jail. But the funny thing is they learn to tolerate eachother..they get along..because they have too, to survive. Doesnt that same thing apply to the world over? I just like to think if we shut our traps up and actually listen to one another,,we may just learn something. You just might learn the person next to you is nothing like you thought they were. If your life is based on hate, and you blame everyone else for your surrondings,,maybe you need to look in the mirror, maybe you need to stop being like your surroundings. Maybe you dont have to like or agree with everyones beliefs, but if you show some respect, you may find you were wrong or stupid to judge people by color, religion or politics. Shit I am wrong everyday,I admit it, but everyday I learn something new, people are people.
