I had my first trip to a city hospital emergency room (Im totally fine). There was blatant racism, people were there for cutting off fingers with snow blowers, homeless folks making up symptoms to get out of the snow, a woman screaming about her unmentionables itching and threatening the staff in different voices, convicts with police escorts, just a mess. Spent close to 15 hours there and walked away with a serious new-found appreciation for nurses. The whole nursing staff handled themselves so amazingly well, with unimaginable patience and concern. Kudos to all of you medical professionals, but to all of the nurses out there... you are saints and do not get the praise you deserve.
