I had my infusion treatment yesterday (damn 21 days goes by fast) and was sitting next to this older man. It was not till the end of his treatment that we started to visit. While he lives in Giddings now (his treatments are every 5 months), we spoke of what he did for a living before he retired. When he stated that he had lived in Conroe until he retired I mentioned where I grew up. He then got the biggest smile on his face and stated he had graduated from New Caney in 1950. He laughed when I told him I had graduated 30 years later. Nevertheless he was a wealth of history and stories. He even mentioned how Cut and Shoot came to be and what 59 looked like back in the day. How I enjoyed this much older and wiser man. Before he walked out the door he came back rubbed me on the forehead and told me that I needed to continue to believe that everything was going to be alright. He said that his belief system and faith Is why he is still enjoying life today. He thanked me for allowing him to relive his youth, I thanked him for the history lesson and smile he had given me. I truly believe that angels walk this earth and yesterday Mr. Mac was mine.
