I had never heard of Sseko Designs prior to Siobhan inviting me to one of these events last summer. What they do is they provide employment to women in Ugnada so they have money to be able to attend college. 17% of women in Uganda go to High School and less than 2% go to college. The companies marketing, designs and goals are super inspiring to learn more about. To blend shopping with the idea that I am actually empowering women is the best thing ive ever heard. Meeting Liz and hearing about how she started the company was pretty amazing too. Siobhan, Seeko Designs and the founder Liz Forkin Bohannon are hosting another event open to anyone this upcoming tuesday.
