I had no idea that Hillary Clinton was Pro-GMO. Apparently when she was SoS, she was a supporter of GMOs. On Wed, at the BIO Conference she publicly stated her support for GMOs because of its proven track record and that perhaps we should stop using the term GMO because it sounds too Frankensteiny scaring consumers. We should start calling them drought resistant seeds after their feature versus what they actually are genetically modified seed. She also stated that she is open to the idea of federal subsidizing of Biotech companies to prevent them from leaving the US for tax breaks. A recent example is the rumor that Monsanto was in talks with rival Syngenta to merge so that Monsanto could move their HQ to Europe where Syngenta is based to avoid US taxes. I cant even...Dont even know where to start with this. This is bad on multiple levels. The idea of subsidizing GMO companies will just make them even more powerful and in even more control of our food system AND health. The two are inter-related.
