I had no idea this video existed until yesterday. My first ever band, The American Standards, and probably the most out of the box band I have ever played in. Bobby calls it Progressive Rockabilly which is pretty spot on. Two quick points and I might comment more later. 1. This was taken in 1998, probably Summer, probably less than a year from the first time I ever even touched a bass. I am not saying I was any good, but I was good enough to be on that stage. My point is this, I have always maintained if there is something you really want to do, it can be yours with focus, time and practice. 2. Next point is this. What an amazing look into a different time for shows, no camera phones, no one texting playing on their phones, people are not only actually watching the band but they are familiar with the songs and calling out for personal favorites and having fun.
