I had one whale of a time on the Upper Chattahooche at just over 300 cfs volume, according to a pertinent gauge, near :Leaf, GA, wherever the heck that is. The Upper Hooch is a staple for Atlanta area and residents north of there. I got everything I went there for today. 310 cfs flow or so was just so on and happening. Cool crisp eddy moves, wave tags and surfs, nice eddy links, and an beautifyl day. North Georgia class 2 shit at its very finest. I was so loving it. A couple of pics here. First there is pothole geology like Ive seen on the Chattooga. This pic was shot in the run out of the place we know as Horseshoe, not false Horseshoe, but Horseshoe. Local boaters there will get that. The rest of yall will probably not. The bridge, is Duncan Bridge, which to the eye of any structural engineer such as myself is something of beauty in itself. A true to life old school pin connected truss. Please notice how nearly everything below the top chord of the truss is not a beam but a tension rod, and then there are those transverse rectangular frames. Engineers were so square, but yet so cool in that golden era construction.
