I had posted that King was Pending Adoption. What I intentionally - TopicsExpress

I had posted that King was Pending Adoption. What I intentionally failed to mention was that his former owners who didnt claim him at the shelter were supposed to reunite and adopt him. I know what youre thinking; exact same thing I thought several months ago. They sent me an email explaining that during the time King was at the shelter they were going through a difficult time. I still lacked a complete understanding of how anyone could NOT claim their dog who was raised as a puppy to 6-years old. I did a lot of soul-searching and reached out to people I trusted for their thoughts. I spoke to them on the phone and they agreed to sign a contract and have the rescue remain the main contact on the microchip. The meeting this past Friday was intended to simply gauge Kings reaction to them; not to adopt him that day. Well, after being 20 minutes late, I called and was hung up on. I had volunteers who were also waiting for the Hallmark moment when Kings owners FINALLY showed up for him, also call the number. Same reaction, they were hung up on. I began scolding myself for believing they truly cared about him. About 45 minutes later, the wife called and said they forgot her husband had to work and what time they were supposed to arrive to see King. I had many questions for her. I told her I would have to call her back because it was then time for dinner kennel feeding. I left a message on Saturday. No response. Why did they email me and express interest in getting King back? I offered them King back at only the cost of vet care since they dont have extra funds. I gave them a chance because I had sympathy. I should know better by now. King is still available for adoption. If you are interested in learning more about him, please visit the website and read his complete bio. He needs a confident handler with GSD experience. germanshepherdrescueindy/#!king/ccty
