I had recently discussion about Putin and developments in Ukraine. I know people with Western mentality might not understand me. I understand that you don’t like Putin and his actions. I don’t agree with him too. He is completely authoritarian, but i give him some credits he did also good things for the country. You remember his actions about politicians like Khorkodovski or musicians like Pussy Riot. But on the other hand, you still don’t get one thing. In the eastern society people still need time to reach western democratic standards. And unfortunately there is another fact that politicians that stay in power over 10 years become more authoritarian like Erdoğan or Putin. About Ukraine, you see it from one perspective. Because you are the supreme, always right West. But you close your eyes to some realities. There were protests in Ukraine by prowestern groups. And many people died during protests unfortunately. But at the end they reached an agreement with President Yanukovich. The Presidential elections would be done in May. Then what happened? Opposition with stupid boxer Klichko was not satisfied even with this agreement. They continued protests, burned the public buildings. Did you hear the conversation between EU Representative and Estonian minister that it might be the opposition shooting at people in Maidan just to create an anger!!! OK, you may not want to hear that! Then what happened in Ukraine? They sacked President Yanukovich! I don’t like Yanukovich. He was corrupted as formet pro-western President Yushcenko or your favorite beautiful Timoshenko. They are not different from each other when it comes to money! But to sack or fire President? Is this democracy? Where is the election? Later opposition came to power. What was their first action? To ban Russian language in Ukraine. Is this a wise decision in Ukraine? There are millions of ethnic Russians living in eastern Ukraine. And east Ukraine is the industrial center of Ukraine. Why do you close your eyes to the basic right of using mother tongue? If you behave undemocratically and provoke Russia then what happens, Russia shows that it is still a bear. In West you may think that bear is a wild animal, but in east we like it.:) Crimea was under Ottoman authority, In 1774 Russians took it. During USSR time in 1956 Khrushchev gave it to Ukrainian Socialist state as a gift. But Ukraine was part of USSR also! So Russia wants to take it back. And most of the people in Crimea are ethnic Russians. Nearly %70! So they do their choice. Remember Kosovo. Kosovo people wanted to have independence. West supported them. But now against the Crimean people’s choice. Why because Russia is supporting it! When it comes to Kosovo, it is right of choice, when it comes to Crimea, it is occupation! This is called double standards!!! I wanted to share with you my thoughts. You don’t need to agree with me. This is real democracy. But I hope you will think about these and give me right and respect. ;) Dont throw stones at me:)
