The same with all dumb bullshit regulations: each one dilutes the respect businesses and people have for government. Reduce the amount of laws to their bare minimum, make enforcement only for obvious cases of abuse, and people will welcome seeing the cops, instead of thinking, oh shit, am I doing any minor thing wrong that some idiot made a law against? What can I get nailed for now? (And since the average American commits 3 federal felonies a day, many more more state and local: theres always something that the man can come down on you on).
