I had so much fun today! We worked on softness, Buddy is dull from the way he was ridden for so many years, Kim rode him and didnt believe he was ever offered softness, while he was in training as a youngster. I have always thought that as well. so many show trainers put them in a martingale and call that a headset in frame but not with softness. Kim commented he is a better then last Sept when she rode him. So she discribed to me what to feel for when he is trying to offer me softness, he still doesnt quite understand but he did have moments of softness. We for a small trail ride...the trail ride included sunshine, sprinkles, rain and finally hail! All of our horses were not real happy about the part where it hailed. Alex and Dakota came along as did their friend Cyndi. Dakota did so awesome all Alexs work on her worries has paid off big time! Cyndi had a bay roan/ bridle horse in the making, very solid nice mare. Kim rode one the horses that was in for training a pretty arab, Who was very high energy. Kim very calmly gave me support at the times Buddy was worried, he would get a little worried but each time came right back too me. She commented Buddy is a very well broke horse and a great confidence builder. I love my little Arab!
