I had such a great time this weekend with my wife of almost 29 - TopicsExpress

I had such a great time this weekend with my wife of almost 29 years now. She is indeed a keeper and has done a great job of raising our children, being a good wife and of course helping to me be even a better man then I was before I married her. Of course, I did not make it easy for her but she hung in there and the word divorce was not allowed in our home. I am so blessed as a man to have her as my wife and we had a wonderful time in Stillwater, MN & Hudson, WI. Last night we had a wonderful dinner at the Oasis Cafe and we had a great meal with fried cheese curds as a starter. Then we stayed in pretty nice hotel in Hudson, WI and I am glad I did not need to take a shower this morning because my wife discovered the water was only luke warm. Needless, to say we complained about that. Other then that the hotel was very nice and clean with a frig & microwave even though we really did not need them. In the morning we ate a Keys cafe and I wore my military jacket and Operation Iraqi Freedom hat to breakfast. I was surprised that the restaurant actually did not charge me for my meal which was unexpected to thank me for my service. The waitress also thanked me and her son is serving right now in the Army. I gave her my business card and thanked her for her sons service and complimented her on raising a son that wants to serve. After that we got dressed up for our Tea Party dinner cruise where I was a part of the honor guard and carried the Navy flag. Lots of folks complimented me on my uniform and thanked me for my service and I turned a few ladies heads as well. We had a wonderful program and our guest of honor was a Fort Hood survivor who now lives in MN. He was shot by the terrorist Maj. Hassan 4 times and left for dead but he survived after many surgeries and time in the hospital. He now has a service dog to help him and he is 100% disabled. I talked to him and thanked him for his service. We had some very rousing speeches and even someone sang a special song called Old Army Hat which was wonderful and almost brought me to tears. I will post it on one of the comments and here are some pictures of the Tea Party cruise.
