I had the good fortune to be in attendance of the book launch special Uptown meets Downtown Divas of Cabaret show curated by James Galvin himself ... Let me just say the UPTOWN Team honored Peggy and glistened in their collective history ... Helen Merrill, Andy Bey , Baby Jane Dexter took us back to the days of Reno Sweeney when the late Lewis Fredman and today still man about town Elliott Hubbard would greet you at the door, give you that look of .. Boy are you in for a treat Jim and make all of us downtown aucorants feel like we were in our generations Stork or Latin Quarter nightclub.... FYI the downtown divas including Justin Vivian Bond, Tammy Faye Starlight etc .. got a master class in how to honor the song and the moment from the ancients.. what a night it was ..
