I had the great pleasure of going to see the film, ‘Prisoners’ - TopicsExpress

I had the great pleasure of going to see the film, ‘Prisoners’ recently. The story personifies every parent’s nightmare…a child gone missing. The film follows 2 fathers and a local police detective as they track clues immediately following their 2 girls that have gone missing. Keller Dover, played by Hugh Jackman takes matters into his own hands when the main suspect in his daughters presumed abduction is put back on the street after an interrogation goes nowhere. Jake Gyllenhaal does an outstanding job playing the local detective who is determined to find the two missing girls. And of course I gotta mention our local talent, Terrance Howard. ‘Prisoners’ had me on the edge of my seat and guessing at every turn. As the pressure mounted and the clues uncovered, it was this or could have been THAT….I loved wondering and waiting. I was not an enormous fan of how the film itself ended, but I appreciated what it meant as a former filmmaker. The story takes place in a Western Pennsylvania town, but sadly was not filmed in PA. I loved how the film was shot, hats off to Roger Deakins on that and the soundtrack was perfect and keeps you in the mood of desperation along side the characters. If you liked the team up of Director Denis Villeneuve and Gyllenhaal, check out ‘Enemy’. ‘Prisoners’ gets 5 fingers out of 5 on the Glove-meter for this suspenseful mystery in theaters now.
