I had the honour to meet with the President of AIESEC International, Vniciust after his amazing story about how he started from a poor little community hard to find even on the map of Brazil to where he is today. In our chart and as we shake hands, he told me, we don’t have AIESEC in The Gambia, do you wanna set it up in The Gambia? I was like wow! Global Hands is waiting for the response for a moment. Do you want to make it happen? Yes! I am ready and we are ready in The Gambia. You really ready Gambia? I also meet with the Secretary General’s Envoy on Youth, United Nations, Ahmad Alhendawi. I had a lengthy chart with him about youth affairs especially about African youths. I am young Gambian leader who has so much to offer to the advancement of young people and to speak the voice from the south where I come from. Ongoing discussion with him: Sir, Do you want to share with me what it takes to be where you are today? Doesn’t it struck you when you see young energetic youths from Africa migrate to Europe through the back way and their bodies decay to feed the animals in the sea, what policies are put in place to address this situation? How represented is the African voice in the United Nations, specifically young people? Response: you are such a very bold young leader, I must confess the am impressed with your questions and the passion you have for young people. To answer your questions, what do you back home? Am ready to support you in many aspects? The world is right here you to make a change and you are the agent for it? What would you like to contribute to the discussion?
