I had the phenomenal and breathtaking privilege of watching teeny tiny leatherback sea turtles (endangered) do this on a beach in Sayulita, Mexico-I have learned growing up that when you have a marine biologist father wake you up on a full moon and say come down to the beach now! (it has happened more times than you think, youd understand if you knew my dad lol) you do it! It humbles you, to say the least, to watch such new and tiny creatures make such a long and life altering journey and I will forever be grateful for the chance to see something like this in person. I also love that the men filming and watching didnt help the babies but rather allowed them to take that important step on their own as nature intended-nothing wrong with keeping the seagulls away and giving them a better chance though!!
