I had the pleasure 3 nights this week of sitting in on the Hunter - TopicsExpress

I had the pleasure 3 nights this week of sitting in on the Hunter Education course at Green Top with my youngest boy. It was great to refresh and find that 1 of the test questions was about Sunday hunting on the written test. It was a packed house for this class and had no less than 12 hound hunters in attendance with their sons. The CPO and the instructors were quite enthused about fielding questions about the new Sunday hunting law. No humans, horses, bird watchers nor kayakers, bow hunters or hound hunters were harmed in the 3 days we were there. Everyone appeared to be excited about expanding their days in the field and we had great discussions amongst bow hunters and hound hunters alike. The CPO told me Sunday is like every other day to him. He made the group laugh when the game warden said.....Does everyone think game wardens only work 6 days a week during the hunting seasons?. Most important thing I took away from this education session was everyone needs to have the permission cards in the hunting regs book filled out and SIGNED by the private land owner and carried in your license holder this Fall for anyone SUNDAY hunting. Have it on your person. The CPO stated he is not specifically checking for this permission card but will do in the course of his check if you are approached on any given SUNDAY. It was a great experience and no blood was shed among any of the hunters. Reality is not always perception.....thankfully!
