I had the privilege of attending a Black Belt testing last night, - TopicsExpress

I had the privilege of attending a Black Belt testing last night, held at Royal Dragon Martial Arts School. Throughout the testing the Master Instructors would impart their wisdom on their students and the audience. One such insight was that as soon as you leave the ground, you lose power. Yes, you can jump to gain height or distance—but in doing so, you sacrifice power. One hop or jump, you lose power. Two hops, you lose more power. The instructor went on to say that your power comes from your stance… your core. The more grounded and balanced you are with the earth, the more powerful. Once you disconnect from that source, you weaken your power. When you’re not grounded and balanced, you will fall. I see this concept working in our daily lives. When we’re not grounded and balanced, we fall. It doesn’t take much. One lie will weaken our credibility. An indiscretion or two will weaken our position with others even more. Inconsistent behavior will erode whatever trust we had built with others… As the Master instructed: We need to be connected and grounded to our source— that source that gives us strength. Once we disconnect from that source, we weaken our power.
