I had the privlidge of speaking the Zoar United Methodist Churchs EPIC youth group last night...They are doing something special there for Jesus and it was fun to get to be a little part of it... I wanted to share what I did because I was so excited that my visual worked and didnt BOMB... The kids were mostly ages 1st grade through 6th so I think my visual was perfect for them...it was interactive and more like teaching than speaking... On the balloons we attached to the bag labeled ME we wrote the things that they worry about...friends, school, the future, ISIS, kidnapping, geometry, and IStep... On the balloons we attached to the bag labeled GOD we wrote the things that we can do to give our worries to God...share with others, pray, worship, do something for someone else (because we can get selfish when we are worried), go to church, write ect... We talked about how when we try to work out our worries on our own we get weighed down and dont get to experience the freedom that God wants for us...but when we give our worries to God we are free (hence the bag flying) I was SO PLEASED that it floated so well I wasnt sure it was going to work out... I weaved in the verse Matthew 6:26 and how he takes care of the birds then he will take care of us ect... It feels great to get started one of my goals for the year is to speak once a month...and I actually made it in January!!!
