I had to delete my original post here is the new one. Can you all - TopicsExpress

I had to delete my original post here is the new one. Can you all please share this one like you did the last? Things HAVE to change when it comes to how airlines handle the pets we fly. I am with an animal rescue in Houston TX called Forgotten Dogs of the 5th Ward Project. We have used United Airlines SEVERAL times to fly our dogs to their forever homes all across the country. We have been very happy with your services and our experiences until today. You see, we not only spend thousands of dollars getting our dogs healthy since most come to us on the brink of death but we put even more time and love into them. When we adopt out a dog it is like adopting out one of our own pets which are family to us, we become very attached while they are in our care. Yesterday Magic was scheduled to leave on flight 1597 to go to Vancouver Canada. We were supposed to be there by 315pm and we got there at 230pm to be safe. It started out bad as soon as we got there, it was a bunch of young people working who made it obvious they didnt know what they were doing and really didnt care. It took until almost 4pm for them to get all of her paperwork done and get her checked in. We paid anyway and waited with Magic until they loaded her onto the van at about 515pm. The next thing we know you all are calling us to advise that Magic never made it onto her flight, that she had been forgotten about in the van. How does that happen? There were 4 other dogs in the van who made it onto their flights. You not only wasted our time, gas and money but also the people who are adopting her that have been anxiously awaiting her arrival. When Magic was found in September she had 4 inches of radial bone exposed from her front leg, was toxic from infection, a walking skeleton and the list goes on. She didnt live through all of that for her to be forgotten about when it came time for you to get her to the family who is waiting for her. It makes me wonder if you forgot about her on the tarmac in todays freezing weather and rain like you did a week ago to another dog. Im sure you will pass the buck onto United Pet Safe like you did in that instance as well but please know this, just like we are willing to spend thousands of dollars on dogs getting them well, we have spent thousands of dollars using your services to get them to their forever homes. There are a lot of choices out there when it comes to airlines and we are going to have to reconsider who we choose to use in the future.
