I had to post this...Ive gotten some feedback about my friends thinking I have self-esteem issues because I refer to myself as wretch or wretched. Perhaps at one time, this was true...However, I am blessed to say that I know that I am the Daughter of the ONE TRUE KING...and there is PEACEin this statement. To know that my human condition, no matter what I accomplish, no matter what good I do, is always that of wretched chick- meaning I will NEVER, EVER, live up to GODs STANDARD (Old Testament). This is why we need Jesus Christ (New Testament), becasuse HE saved us from the judgement that would be required (DEATH), and when we believe in HIM, we recieve ETERNAL LIFE. So, its not that I feel so badly about myslef that I call myself a wretch, its just that I recognize that in Christ, I am saved and in my humanness I am nothing. As John the Baptist once said I must decrease, and HE (JESUS) must increase.
