I had to post this one, so very true in so many cases, Most cant understand that teaching is simply that art of finding the connection, when so many coaches, Trainers or Pro Trainers loose a student then it is the Students failure rather then a failure to come together and that is why I try so hard to offer things in different ways looking for the keys that open the door and remove the things that are blocking that understanding, especially in Horses, you are paying the price for failed attempts or even bad practices, Look at Cest Mystique if you were as others were tearing her mouth out down to the white quick of her mouth then, she is delivered back from the bronc rider with a statement to a world class rider that even she would not be safe to ride that horse because the bronc rider was unable to break her of tearing her mouth out, then as the owner and Family of that Horse then where were we left? the system had failed her so miserably and again the statements of dog her and get rid of her started all over again, the bullying about you playing and working with your horse started all over again. Now that person used to go away for Clinics so on those weekends it was fantastic, because I could just be with my 4 Horses at that time and just be, To work them and follow and experiment as I did with what worked and what didnt, by this time I had met some other legends that were to say the least inspirational in their true abilities and I learnt so many real things from them, But I was always different in my beliefs as to how Horses should be treated and what rights they had to safety so I was always going to end up on a different path, Now over a short period when she came back she saw changes in my Mystique that were amazing and I never take away from her skills in reading and working Horses, Just her attitude to them and people, so then not to be shown up she did a few things with that Horse and it became obvious that Cest Mystique was able to be ridden, So then we split and I was still not up to her standards but friends at that time were show Hacks and Mystique well being Hot and stunning was just meant for that, now they were Pro Race horse trainers that showed in that field, what I did not realise was that her hands were like concrete, so for a short time she rode Mystique and showed her in a couple of shows till she drugged her as she did with her horses and other horses of her friends so I wanted nothing to do with that at all and that was the last time she ever rode my Horse. So then my journey was for me my journey and what I found amazing is all that came next, I had spent years with people I had trusted telling me she was nutz telling me you will never ride her, I had never counted on how much that got inside my head and Man it had, when you watch her move she is Hot and stunning, but at no time in all of the years has she ever sort to hurt me, she has never tried to get me off although she has danced a little which is exciting on such a Hot horse, but now that I know her so very well it is only a little thing and nothing like it used to be, but the work that follows is amazing and Again rule number one, she has never tried to get me off and I took so long to understand that, I should have been understanding that then the fear others had of her, yes I have no doubt that as a Bronc rider trying to take her soul from her would have ended one day in a battle to the death, but in proper training with feel and timing that is all gone away from the riding, and she is worth every single moment and what I have learned from her and other troubled Horses is the reason I can do what I do, because I bothered to understand what others put straight in the bin, what they said was to much trouble, but what that teaches you about working with Horses that dont have problems is amazing in itself.
