I had to pull an emergency extraction to get Jeanette inside - TopicsExpress

I had to pull an emergency extraction to get Jeanette inside tonight. Were having a wind storm right now with gusts over 60 MPH. She didnt want to come in voluntarily so when she went in her box I plugged her hole with a towel & unscrewed it from the brackets holding it to the fence & brought the whole thing in. I had to turn it on its side to get it through the door of her pen. She was probably wondering what the heck was going on. As I was getting it out, most of the neighbors porch roof of corrugated plastic blew off in one piece & flew over his house to the front yard & stuck in a fir tree. You can see the section that blew off in this video (blue house behind Jeanettes pen). Its still on when I took this vid but blew off a few minutes later. I was also dodging branches from the trees above Jeanettes pen too while trying to get her out. When the gust that took his roof off came I made a bee line out of the chicken area so I wasnt under any trees. Luckily our power lines are underground here so we only lose power if a sub station blows. We did lose power but only for about 20 seconds
