I had to share...I listened to the updates all the way home and wondered...... We idealize Baseball and Football players and those men make obscene amounts of money! We wear their sports logos, clothing, our children , our boys want to be them, we give up our Sundays to root them on! Then we have Firefighters and Policemen, whose very job it is to walk INTO DANGER and place themselves in Harms way everyday for Strangers, their fellow human beings..... that is what they choose to do! Where are their logos, Banners, parades, where is their obscene income for saving lives? They have families, wives , children, friends!!! 19 men lost their lives this weekend attempting to save others..... What is wrong with a Society that has such an imbalance of what is important that Firefighters and Police Officers are less in our eyes than Celebrities, Baseball teams and Football teams! It is admirable to place yourself in harms way to give the ultimate Sacrifice, and yet these men are the least underpaid, the hardest worked, have the toughest jobs! Even if that job was as innocent as delivering a Warrant !
