I had to share this message I received today....Audrey Simmons thank you! Was reading the boys devotional today with them. It was about God always keeping us safe. I was thinking about Ella and her family and realized I had such a peace about the lesson I was reading. It was not lying. Its not something pleasant we say to little kids to make them feel good about God. What happened is awful, horrible, beyond current comprehension or understanding. Its sickening and devastating and broken. But our bodies are just tents. I just wanted to encourage you that God is still present, just as He was present in the tragedy of the cross. He is here in the midst of suffering, and on a fundamental level, beyond her body or her brain or what God does or allows our sinful world to do in the temporary life on earth, Ella is safe. She is safe in the arms of God who deeply loves her and her family and she will never be separated from Him, her soul will never be snatched out of His hand, she is safe and secure from the realest and truest harm there could ever be and eternally-- whether by His hand she recovers completely or whether this changes the course of her life or the length of it-- she is safe. Safe in a way sin and satan and human error can never change. We will continue to pray, and thousands now join us in praying, and He will hear and He will decide in His wisdom what is best to show His glory and to draw people to Him and He knows the anguish of the hearts closest to her. But Ella is safe. And the physical reality we can see has not changed that. I hope hope hope this reads as an encouragement, and not a rebuke or reprimand of ANY kind. I am still sorting through this and Im not nearly as close to the family. God can handle and is not offended by our grieving Why? Which we CAN and SHOULD ask. But I was just comforted in reading that devotional with them that there is more than what we can see of our lives right now.
