I had to take a little time before posting anything about this weekends competition at MN/USA Wrestling State Tournament. Very emotionial weekend for a lot of us so please bear with me. Over the weekend we were witness to some of the best wrestling of the entire year. Starting with Keegan Jeni Wetzel this little guy is the future of TCU wrestling, never met a kid who was so upset with a 6th place finish at the state tournament (skys the limit with him), Landon was extremely tough this weekend and I was most impressed with how his sportsmanship has really turned around, it is very easy to be a good sport when you win all the time it takes a true competitor to be able to handle losing. Jackson Meyer, all the kid does is win medals in a division where every kid is a grade or two above him, 6th at gopher nationals and 6th at state. Jordan Jeremy Weiers frst time qualifying for state and to show up and win 2 matches is quite an accomplishment. Christoher shorty Peggy OMeara Johnson wrestled probably the toughest match I saw all year with a 4 OT loss and I have no doubt in my mind that the Champ will be standing on the podium next year. Riley Omalley went into in my opinion one of the toughest brackets in the tournament and competed at the highest level and will be a force to be reckoned with next year. Caden Holly Engel OMalley I enjoy coaching this kid probably almost as much as my own, he has so much potential and wears his emotions on his sleeve. His 3rd place match demonstrated the amount of heart someone needs in this sport and truly showed everyone watching what it means to NEVER GIVE UP. Not much can be said about the new Champ Caleb Bobber Jessica Johnson Whipps that hasnt already been posted about a thousands times on facebook since yesterday. You achieved the goal you set out for yourself and you did by hard work and dedication no doubt that we are witnessing the growth of a Future State High School Champion. Lastly to Adam Fredrickson for 7 years i have watched you compete in this sport, we have seen highs and lows but most importantly no matter what, you did what you had to do to make your self better each and every year. Your mom and I are so proud of what you have grown into and eventhough this youth portion of your career is over, i am very excited to see how the TCU TCU Titans Wrestling mold and shape you over the next couple of years. Lastly, to coach Joey Grasser this program would have not survived without your committment to our boys. I am happy to have worked along side of you for all these years and hope that you will continue to lead our boys into the right direction in both wrestling but also in life. Thank you to all the parents for your support of our club over the years, I am confident that it is being left in good hands to continue on the strong and rich tradition that is Le Center Youth Wresting.
