I had to wear the nurses hat. Thats how old I am. I made $6.73 and thought I was bad. We were treated like rock stars. All you had to do was flash your employee ID and you could get anything you wanted. We had the Nurses lounge. It was like an employee break room, but just for nurses, no one else could go in there. We smoked in there. Seriously. We had our own nurses locker room, with big lockers and showers and a closet to keep a couple of changes of clothes in. Secret tunnels or hallways or supply rooms. A lot of Greys anatomy stuff going on. There were bars that OPENED at 7am just to cater to us 11-7 nurses. Apartments that were designed for nurses. Discounts, free stuff. Respect. There is no wow factor in nursing anymore. No respect anymore. Just bad knees and a mortgage. At least we dont have to wear that stupid hat:)
