I had two conversations with two friends this week whose 3rd grade daughters had come to them asking if they were fat. Both mothers were taken aback and expressed a bit of heartbreak over hearing something like that, but answered beautifully that the girls were both just the right size for their growing bodies. They asked the girls if they felt strong and healthy, and talked about not being concerned with what other people think and focusing on what we do over how we look. How would you answer that question if your son or daughter came to you? How would it make you feel?
