I happen to think that America is still the greatest country at its core - the one I grew up in deserved that label right through WWII - but I also think this video shows why we need to earn that label again as evidenced by CNN headlines just this morning alone! We have regressed to the 50s again - the video speaks to what we need to acknowledge so we can make a plan of unified and balanced action to regain our standing - America was a maturing democracy and it has deconstructed back to being a surly teenager playing with behaviors that are dangerous to self and others ... if we stopped listening to the pundits and politicians who love to twist our emotional tail in a knot by hitting a few hot button topics that keep us from being informed on the topics that are actually imperative to the health and well being of our citizens and our citizenry, then I believe we could regain our balance and deserve the label again today and each day going forward - to stand as a moral compass in spite of the last number of decades of self serving and immature actions. But it will take our stopping to think beyond our own comfort and raising our eyes and heart to higher ground for a clearer view. I dont want America to go backwards - I want us to face and learn from our places of weakness and and allow us to move forward in renewed strength- I hope you will not be afraid to listen to the first part of this video so that you can hear the last part of it - dont focus on a few words and stop listening to the overall message. And I hope that this, like speeches and lectures that helped us in the past, can help us today vs. be the fodder for a next set of Internet styled snarky remarks or emoticons (as if they can ever express emotions --- but that is another posting on another day - right now, I am going to spend time uplifting my country in prayer and meditation as I actually do each day) (see - I did say I would be placing more energy into outward communication as my time of medical limitations are overcome by my very concentrated and hard work to optimize my health by hard personal decisions and behaviors that were not of my preference but serve me in the long run .. I am, indeed, a citizen of the country I call out to for the same level of healing work!)
