I happened to find this very interesting and wanted to share with yall! Bisous à Bastogne, Nathalie Houston Fiat Cinquecento Texas Aggies Go To War Exhibit! This was posted in another forum by a subscriber and Texas A&M System employee that has been working with the Belgians on this project for a few years now. Heres his post and video links to the presentation they did in Belgium on Memorial Day. Good stuff. ******************** Ive mentioned few times this museum project that will open in Bastogne, Belgium in December 2014 that will honor the sacrifices and service of Texas Aggies during the war. It will be something that all Aggies will be proud of and it will tell the story of Texas A&M in a way that we have never seen. For Memorial Day 2014, the Belgians held a commemoration and celebration of Texas A&M as a way of honoring America and Texas A&M. The link below is a video of the event as if you were a spectator. Critical points to know: This was the Belgians telling the story of Texas A&M to a Belgian audience To my knowledge there was not a single Aggie in the audience This was a Belgian idea from start to finish (script, scale, scope) . The 5,000 Belgians that attended the event stood for 2 hours until 10PM to see the commemoration. The commemoration was held at the Mardasson Memorial in Bastogne which is a 3 story star shaped memorial (150 ft from point to point) built by the city of Bastogne in 1948 to honor American sacrifices. This will give you an idea of the quality of the museum that will open in Bastogne, Belgium. World Class ************************ Click to Watch Video: https://vimeo/104647708 To learn more about the entire project you can visit this site texasaggiesgotowarexhibit.tamus.edu/ I think after you watch the video you will realize that the old adage from the inside looking out you cant explain it, and from the outside looking in you cant understand it is wrong. The outsiders, the Belgians Ive worked with on this project, understand Texas A&M, and they explain it in a way that weve never seen before.
