I hardly post on Facebook anymore, but this video is making the rounds and I cannot help but to comment on it. I feel like I am one of the few people on social media who is incredibly disturbed by this. Before you comment OMG youre totally missing the point its so great!!, like I have seen many do when anyone expresses their outrage, let me explain. Exploiting kids this young, especially for abstract subjects that they are not cognitively developed enough yet to understand, is disgusting. I disagree with the idea of this isnt that bad, because this is worse!. If I were to say, I didnt hit them, I only yelled and swore at them! or I didnt do cocaine, only underage drinking, does the former being worse really excuse the latter? Because I dont think it should, and I do not get how these kids swearing isnt bad because the oppression is worse!. I have never agreed with that way of thinking, and I will never support a cause that uses it. Also, the wage gap is a myth. There is hardly a wage gap, and the slim one that exists is due to how they group professions. For example, sociology majors (primarily female) and economics majors (primarily male) are considered to be in the same professional group. There is a large gap between the wages of those two professions, leading the data to easily be skewed to men make more than women!!!!!!!. Think about it logically. I plan to be an entrepreneur and own my own company, and I f people could really get away with paying women so much less than men, I would absolutely hire all women to save a significant amount of money, as would any other smart business owner. So next time we exploit our children, we should check our facts first and stop using an outdated myth to justify our disgusting behavior. I was also raised to believe that if you dont like something, you should work to change it. So, if I genuinely believed that women are so underestimated and mistreated in comparison to men, which in America, I do not, I should work as hard as possible to prove I could do the same things any man could do. That is how things change, not by using children for shock value. Also, I disagree with the idea that these little girls swearing is only a big deal because they are little girls. I know for a fact that when I was younger, my brother and I would have been in equal trouble for using any of these words, and I would have been equally disgusted if there were little boys used to prove a point in this video. Children shouldnt be used as props to promote your social agenda, end of story.
