I hate the title of this article but its actually very interesting and has little to do with the titles more salacious words, which is why so many internet age editors need to be fired. But this is actually a pretty great discussion that I find a lot of truth in, especially with peoples obsession with knowing everything about everyone, which is so foreign to me. Its why I hate memoirs and biographies and why I find much of our cultural obsessions to be sort of destructive and reductive. At the same time, I find it sad and horrifying how many people, famous and not, who have bought into this idea that we need a public brand of ourselves. To commoditise ourselves to be more palatable or interesting to the public at the expense of just being a normal human doing normal human things.
