I hate to have to address this here, and like to keep social media positive and uplifting... but over the course of the last 5 months, I have gotten unkind/downright ugly messages from people every single time there is a sickness in my family and I have to be closed. I have tried to be kind and courteous in my responses, but this needs to be addressed and stopped right now. -Every time MLB is closed for the day, the information is on our Facebook. If I can have someone put a sign on the door, I do that as well. -I have a 1 year old at work with me every day. -A few times a week, I leave and drive down the road to sonic and back so that I can have a meal while Im working. There is always a sign on the door, and Im never more than 5 minutes, because those car hops are fast and fabulous. (Hey girls!!:)) -I am the ONLY employee that works the store AND the website. Sometimes my precious momma covers for me when I have to be gone, but today she was attending a close friends funeral and couldnt work for me. -Someone wrote me a message asking If I actually work. Yes. I work during store hours, cook dinner, put my kiddo to sleep, and then go back to work every night processing website orders and getting things ready to ship, and get to sleep between 1-2am most nights. (Thank you for those orders, by the way) -When Im sick, I actually *dread* closing because I already know Ill have hate mail as our family calls it and it really does hurt my feelings every. single. time. Im a momma FIRST and I take pride in that. I would venture to say that most of you understand the feeling and do anything to put your families first. My sweet girl sits inside while I work day in and day out and when she or I am sick, we will be sick at home so we dont spread our sickness to our customers. She deserves that from her momma. I have no sick days or substitutes for my job. When we need to be gone (sickness, well check shot appointments, vacation days, etc) we reserve that right to be gone and do those things. The information will ALWAYS be posted on Facebook as a courtesy to my Magnolias. Please remember Im one little person doing a lot of jobs and wearing a lot of hats, and I feel in my heart that I deserve to be at home with my family when we have a stomach virus, just like the next person. Please DO NOT write me unkind messages telling me youre mad and frustrated that youre unable to shop when Im at home sick. Its just not fair and it is definitely not loving your neighbor. Social media makes it easy to reach out to businesses, but we have to remember that there is a PERSON reading the messages we send on the other end..not a business. If you have a shopping emergency, please shop via the website 24/7 and choose the free local pick-up option at check out. Im very proud of this new feature, and love to see people using it. MagnoliaLaneBoutique All that being said... I appreciate my sweet shoppin sisters that send us well wishes and check on us..and I am so thankful for your business. I love the hugs around the neck, seeing you smile when I hand you that green MLB bag, the texts showing me how you rocked your new outfits, and seeing your family pictures with your Mini Magnolias all dolled up in their Magnolia Lane goodies. I hope everyone is having a great day, and you remember to Thunder Up tonight. Our boys needs us! Like Ellen says... Be kind to one another.
