I hate to say it, but I am not a big fan of Air Malta, putting my previous (horrible) experience in November aside, which would have been enough for anyone! My last night in Malta - instead of sitting looking at the sea, drinking white russians or something, Ce Ce and I instead spent the last 6 1/2 hours in a hotel room packing and unpacking our luggage, :( to deal with their unconventional weight restrictions! One med size suitcase is packed full and will have to be left behind with a friend. They must make a lot of money on overweight baggage of unaware international travellers, as ALL the airlines that we have flown into Malta with - Lufthansa, United, Delta, British Airways to name a few allow the standard, 50 lbs/22.5kg for the main bag, and no weight limit for the carry on bag of the proper dimensions. Air Malta offers much less, only 20kg/ of 44 lbs - a considerable ammont less! and dont try to stuff the excess into a carry on... as with Air Malta, you have a weight limit on that too 10Kg vs no weight limit with ALL the other airlines - and their webpage states: When you fly with Air Malta, rest assured that you are allowed a generous free checked baggage allowance so you can take all your necessary and essential belongings with you on holiday. Yeah I am resting right now because fo their generousity. NOT! What a bunch of meaningless PR! So now it is 2:30 am I am being picked up at 5:00am flight at 7:15am so I am not going to bed at all tonight, as I am finally finding the time to look out at the sea and Fort St. Elmo and write some postcards and get them mailed before I leave, hey Im cool, its all good LOL, signed, Mr. International Traveller Man. :)
