I hate to state the obvious but apparently its needed. The States - TopicsExpress

I hate to state the obvious but apparently its needed. The States that have passed laws providing for the appointment of Article V Delegates are violating a Federal Statute. These laws cause persons to act in the capacity of a commissioned appointee to perform the service of proposing amendments for the benefit of a political party by means of depriving others the right to seek nomination for candidacy and election to the position of Delegate to the Article V Convention; a position provided for in part by an Act of Congress (Title 18, Chapter 29, S. 601) Addressing this overreach of State power should be our primary concern. If for no other reason, than the fact that they guarantee a Convention will not be called. Applications from these States are unconstitutional. Take special note of definition (e) for the term ELECTION law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/18/601
