I hate when people have to rely on others to come into their home to care for a loved one just to get burned. They are trusting you to be kind & honest. Its the best but hardest way to take care of your family members. Its draining on family relationships & we (caregivers) are often a last resort when the task is just too big. WE ARE SUPPOSED TO BE THEIR SUPPORT! It is a slap in the face to steal, slack, abuse, ANYTHING beyond what your job entails. Can you imagine how TRAPPED a family can feel when they cannot do the job alone and yet cannot TRUST the ones they hire to come to their aid? What is wrong with people?! Its sad & frustrating to hear about. Makes me wish I could dedicate more time to those clients. Prove to them that not everyone that comes to their home is going to take advantage. I cant stand a substandard aide & I absolutely loath elder abuse. My heart swells to know Im trusted & welcome back to someones home, but it sinks at the thought of the price paid before I arrived. What I would give to be in a hundred places at once...
