I hauled off the household trash today. Things we didnt want, no - TopicsExpress

I hauled off the household trash today. Things we didnt want, no longer needed and general waste from meals, paper products, wrappers and etc. leaving the house cleaner and with less clutter. I stopped at my sons house and took his trash off too, since I was going. I had about a half a truck load between the two of us. Then I thought of my spiritual life and how I must clean out the clutter and left over trash from it also. So as I made a list of things to discard, it went something like this: I need to discard - •memories from bad decisions hanging around •worthless thoughts of worries, fears and anxieties •feelings of unworthiness of Gods healing and blessings •judgements about others •excuses about why Im not doing what The Lord wants me to do •feelings of unforgiveness •all self condemnations •a host of other details that is hindering my relationship with God I think the trash in my spiritual truck was full and running over. I may have to take a second load. When we dont get to prayer daily asking forgiveness of the Father, dumping the trash and leaving it behind and thanking Him for the life He has given, we tend to get cluttered up inside. This continues to build, weighting us down and holding us back thus making bad days worse. We cant see the light because the clutter is blocking our view. We have to clean our spiritual house daily to enjoy what God has for us. The only way to clean it is to pray! If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9 ESV Have you cleaned and discarded all your old junk today. Might want to do that before you get started this morning. It will make for a better day! I think Ill stop by my sons house and see if he needs help getting rid of that trash too. If you need a model prayer for this, consider Psalm 51 as David pleaded his case to God when he said, Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. Psalm 51:10 ESV
