I have 3 children all doing homework at the same time. How can I - TopicsExpress

I have 3 children all doing homework at the same time. How can I get round them all, its a nightmare. They are all in primary school! Getting homework done with one child can be challenging enough, but three I agree is difficult. I would imagine they are all at different stages in the level of homework they get. I wonder if they can be buddies for each other. If the older child helps the child next to them. They will have done the homework before and may like the idea of being teacher. You could talk with the children about this idea. Encourage them to give it a go and to have strict guidelines around how to do it. This may then allow you more time to help the oldest child, one to one. Often children will enjoy testing each other on maths and spelling, but support the children to be supportive of each other, practice good phrases to offer encouragement. And reward the children afterwards for their cooperation with homework. You may have to have 2 homework slots, one where they are doing the written work and you check in with each on how they are getting on. Take a break and then second round could involve you all testing each other. Your children will be learning more than just homework from this exercise. Let us know how you get on, maybe other parents have suggestions of what works for them. Thank you. Geraldine
