I have 43,587k for my book. I started blogging in my own space again. I blogged on my BlogHer blog again & got featured each time. I art journaled. I read. I pitched myself other places (hello NPR Code Switch & Washington Post Parenting!) thanks to the prompting of two very dear and creative friends. I submitted topic and speaking proposals to 2 conferences. I dreamed big and sketched out a storytelling/writing/artist conference of my own. I helped develop and launch a survey specifically for women of color who have experienced PPD or a related illness for Postpartum Progress. The two posts I wrote on PPs blog about my experience with the VA the past 18mos? Were forwarded to the Director of Womens Health Services at the VA in Washington DC and recognized by Mass Gens reproductive psychiatric team. I attended Blogalicious and made some fabulous connections with amazing women and an incredible org (hello ONE!) I painted. (Landed my first commission-an international one!) I won a writing contest. I fought depression. I fought anxiety. I rolled with my cycling moods. I tried to do no harm but take no shit. I broke through some barriers and broke away from other things and people as my focus sharpened. I committed myself to building my own, but also to helping others build and launch their own too. I stopped caring what people think about how I choose to live my life and use my voice. I finally said Im an artist out loud and believed it wholeheartedly. I found my word for the next year (amplitude) and zeroed in on my three light words from Lime Retreats back in October (Words, art, activism) and found ways to engage all three this month. It was a GOOD month. This last week gutted me, but the rest of the month was GOOD. 32 tomorrow and a new month, leading into a new year. Not sure whats ahead but Im ready. Rooted, embodied, whole, and ready. Heres to December and all things being made new.
