I have NO idea how I will contain my excitement, over the course the weekend, but, I think I found THE spot, that is perfect for me. There was fire coming off my fingertips, as I called the agent, earlier today, when I saw this one posted. This building would meet my long, list of requirements for a space....falling into the right area...and within my budget....In addition to my list of stuff I wanted, it appears to be zoned for a bar/restaurant... .AND...it appears I could also get a little patio permit, for the very front, along the sidewalk. So, I was on the phone with the agent...and we were chatting about the place..and, he explained, he would probably not be able to show it, until Monday morning. We chatted for several minutes, and he disclosed to me, that he use to work in the music industry, for a certain record label. We chatted blues for a long time. Then, right before we were about to hang up the phone, he tells me...heah, I have this story about Leslie West...and Mountain...you may want to hear, being from Mississippi...and Im like....well, maybe I should give you a bit more information about who I am...as the Mississippi Queen, and then we ended up talking a lot longer. He was not available to meet me today, but I just drove to the address, and looked at this place..and I am in disbelief at how perfectly vintage this place is! It is screaming ME!!!!! You have NO idea!!! I would be creatively on fire, in this space. I wont post any real details on the place, but the entire face is pretty much glass, and I can see right in, and see every part of the main floor, available for retail space/restaurant..and it is absolutely perfect for a little, wee, music spot!!!!! I am all panicky.....following up with the agent, since I left, but reminding myself.....not many other folks would appreciate the vintage feeling of this building...so, probably not so many other folks as excited as me, to get in there, to see the upstairs and basement, before it gets leased out. So, please keep sending that mojo and voodoo and chicken feet..and crosses....and lucky charms....and whatever ya got, folks...because my gut is telling me that THIS is the spot for Mississippi Queen Foods! I know it is still a work in progress, but thank you, especially to Sonya Jezebel Cote & Steven Belitsky, because your expert advice, input, and words of wisdom, have been incredibly helpful, grounding, and encouraging, as I have been mucking my way through this process.
