I have VSP Vision Care eye insurance, which is supposed to cover - TopicsExpress

I have VSP Vision Care eye insurance, which is supposed to cover my eye exam & a certain portion of my eyeglass costs. They never cover my entire specs, because I have a very strong prescription & require certain extra features to make the glasses wearable, and I accept that. But today my eye doctor called and told me that as a matter of policy, VSP doesnt cover ANY portion of the strength/thinness of lenses I need (174s?), which means the costs of the lenses just doubled, all out of pocket (and on top of my premiums) -- basically because Im too blind to make more basic lenses effective. (As someone on Twitter said, This is like walking into an ER holding your own leg and being told they can’t help because it’s too broken.) Ive waited three years to get glasses, so I really need this new pair. Anyone else have experience with VSP? Any advice here, other than Cancel your policy, which Im definitely planning on doing?
